Simplification of form continues as the inspiration behind Elana Cutolo's modernist coffee table, Merci Donald. Taking the serious out of strict modern principles while still enforcing them, Merci Donald is a light-hearted whimsical low table that adds a sense of play to any space. A simple cube constructed from 6mm thick black lacquered glass glued together at 45°, Merci Donald gets its playful side through openings cut out by water jet on the sides and top. These storage compartments of various sizes and depths are coated inside with lacquered glass in pink, violet, green, orange, and yellow. Merci Donald stands 36 cm tall, and 80 cm deep and wide.
